Elote
Elote.
i find this interesting. cultures throughout history all gave corn as a sign of peace and good tithings to “visitors”.
This simple gift of corn, representing rebirth to meso-americans was a life line to a lot of pilgrims, warriors, refugees, patrons and citizens. a life line during the first long winter in a new country. the first meal after a long campaign fighting for your home. g gift given from a rival after sharing blood sweat and tears for any number of reason.
from corn to cornmeal, natives of meso-america to the enslaved people’s of america using ears of corn to feed the world around them.
they used corn to give thanks.
i’m not trying to lose that recipe
fight on.
be elote not corny
